Our Story
Our Story
In 1998, a dream took root right here in Las Vegas — that every person, no matter their ability, deserves more than just support. They deserve a place to belong, to grow, and to discover the warrior within.
That dream became Transition Services for Independence.
Born from a deep desire to change lives, our founders built something the community didn't yet have: a safe haven where people facing disabilities could find not just help, but real empowerment. A place where strength is uncovered, voices are heard, and no challenge is too big to face together.
More than 25 years later, that vision beats at the heart of everything we do. Our Compassionate Warriors — our dedicated staff — show up every single day fueled by passion, patience, and purpose. And the incredible people we walk alongside? We call them Ability Warriors, because that's exactly who they are.
TSI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, but more than that — we are a family. A family that believes in possibility, celebrates every win, and never stops fighting for the fullest life imaginable.
This is our story. And we're so glad you're part of it.
TSI's Ability Warriors
From day one, it's been about people. Our Ability Warriors are the heart of everything we do — showing up, pushing through, and inspiring us every single day. Alongside them, our Compassionate Warriors and Board of Directors work tirelessly to open doors, create opportunities, and make sure every Ability Warrior has a real path forward. Together, we don't just change lives — we transform them.
Our Mission Statement
“Empower people with disabilities to live with dignity and full inclusion in the community.”
